When your teeth become weakened by decay or fractures – crowns are the strongest restorations we can provide. At Maitland Dental Care, we construct natural looking crowns with CEREC digital technology to strengthen your teeth and improve their appearance.
These crowns are metal-free, and can also be a viable option for a patient that wants to correct their bite, or improve the aesthetics of their teeth. As a permanent solution, crowns are often used after a root canal to reinforce the tooth, or they are linked together to strengthen loose teeth. CEREC is the latest in modern dental technology, which is why we recommend it to our patients.
We also offer our patients zirconia bridges, which are used to secure a prosthetic tooth or teeth in your mouth. These bridges are fixed, which means they are permanent inclusions in your mouth. A zirconia bridge may be made up of two crowns, with the prosthetic teeth suspended between them. They are far stronger and more durable than other restorative materials used in dentistry today.
Another solution for a missing tooth is a titanium implant. These implants are completely freestanding and remarkably biocompatible. The implant is inserted into the bone by a specialist maxillofacial surgeon. In a few months the titanium implant will fuse to the bone after which time we will screw a new crown onto it, and as a result completely replace your missing tooth.
